After a 2 week period of stressing and guessing when... Buffy kidded this morning at 7:30. We are the proud parents of 2 healthy boys.
Here they are, 2 hours old, all cleaned off, warmed up and ready to meet the world.
At breeding we normally put the girls in with the buck for a 2 week period of time. So kidding dates are never set in stone around here, there is a 2 week window, give or take. That is the worst part...not knowing exactly when.
I can now relax until spring.

I saw the pic on my blog roll and smiled, "Buffy had her kids!!!" Congratulations!
Congratulations, are they goats? What do ya do with boys?
Yeah! Two boys! Did you want boys?
Also, I made the turnip slaw with carrot in it. My husband even liked it, and that says A LOT!

Finally.
Does the adage of "boys are so much easier to raise" apply to goats as well? At least they won't sneak out and wreck your car...though given the adventures of some of your animals maybe I shouldn't say that.
Congratulations.

Congrats on the new babies!
Thanks Amy :-)
Thanks Mary, you know me and my fears of kidding...I was so thankful all went well. These are some active little fellas!
Thanks Joanna, baby goats :-) South African Boers (a meat breed) These little guys come from the better halfs registered Boer buck and doe. Not sure how things will go, he would like to sell them as herd sires if not then they probably will be wethered and hang around the farm with their dad.
Linda, most folks prefer girls, I don't really care as long as they are healthy and the delivery is easy and trouble free. So glad to hear the slaw was good. :-)
Goody, I had to laugh, they sneak out and climb on the car. I find the boys are easier most of the time...and I don't worry about them getting pregnant...just them getting someone pregnant ;-)
Thanks Jennifer!
congratulations!!
Oh Jama, two boys for Buffy. That just makes me smile! Congrats and give her and her boys a hug for me!
